Brush Tools

1.Brush Tool (B)
Photoshop provides the brush tool to let you paint with the current foreground color. By default, the brush tool creates soft strokes of color However, You can change these default characteristics by resetting the tool's brush optoons. You can also use the brush tool as an airbrush to apply sprays of color to an image. (To Draw Free hand sketches using different types of brushes and Opacity option)

2.Pencil Tool
Photoshop provides the pencil tool let you paint with the current foreground color. By default, the pencil tool creates hard-edged, freehand lines. However, you can change these default characteristics by resetting the tool's brush options. (To Draw Free hand sketches using different types of brushes and Opacity option)

3.Healing Brush Tool(J)
The healing brush tool lets you correct imperfections, causing them to disappear into the surrounding image. like the cloning tools, you use the healing brush tool to paint texture, lighting, and shading of the sampled pixels to the source pixels. as a result, the repaired pixels blend seamlessly into the rest of the image.

4.Patch Tool(J)
The patch tool lets you reair a sselected area with pixels from another area or a pattern. like the healing brush tool, the path tool matches the texture, lighting, and shading of the sampled pixels to the source pixels. you can also use the patch tool to clone isolated areas of an image.

When repairing with pixels from the image, select a small area to produce the best result.

5.Art History Brush Tool(Y)
The art history brush tool lets you paint with stylized strokes, using the source data from a specified history state or snapshot. By experimenting with different paint style, size, and tolerance options, you can simulate the texture of painting with different colors and artistic styles.

Slice Tools

Slices you create using the slice tool are called user slices, Slices you create from a layer are called layer-based slices. (or) The slice tool allows you to create multiple images from one image or a layered Photoshop file. You can slice up the image using areas that you create using the slice tool or by using guides that you have applied. This allows you to save out images in preparation for the web very quickly.

You can move and resize user slices in Photoshop but not in the Photoshop Save for Web dialog box. You can also move and resize alices using numeric coordinates.

Crop Tool

Crop Tool (c)
Cropping is the process of removing portions of an image to create focus or strengthen the composition. You can crop an image using the crop tool and the Crop command. You can also trim pixels using the Trim command.

Move Tool

Move Tool (v)
The Move tool would seem to be one of the most simple tools available in Photoshop with just one option in the Tools menu. You can move and resize tool-based image map areas by dragging. You can also move and resize rectangular and circular image map areas using numeric coordinates.

Tip: The shortcut key for the Move Tool is 'V'. If you have the Photoshop window selected press V on the keyboard and this will select the Move Tool.

Selection Tools > Lasso Tools

The lasso tools allow you to select precise areas of an image by drawing or tracing the selection outline. There are three lasso tools available:

Lasso Tools
1.Lasso Tool (L)
This is a freehand selection tool. Click and hold your left mouse button on the image and draw your selection.

2.Polygonal Lasso Tool (Shift + L)
Similar to the lasso tool, except that instead of holding your mouse button down to draw, left-click on various points to create a selection with a series of straight edges.

You can also hold down the Alt key to draw freehand sections.


3.Magnetic Lasso Tool (Shift + L)

This is a very handy tool for selecting areas which have reasonably well-defined edges. Left-click at the starting point of your selection and simply moves the mouse along the edge.

"Fastening points" are automatically made at various points along the edges. Left-click at any time to add a fastening point manually.
